Dalbergia sissoo, Shisham uses and risks extinction

Dalbergia sissoo, Shisham uses and risks extinction

Dilbergia sesso, commonly known as North Indian wood or sheesham, is a fast-growing, hardy, deciduous tree native to the Indian subcontinent and southern Iran.  In common parlance this is called tali.  It is used in all kinds of furniture. It is a very strong wood.  But unfortunately it has been plagued by diseases for the last few years and the tree is declining.

This is a serious issue and not only the government but also the people should pay attention to it so that this tree can be saved from extinction. The government should give strict instructions to the forest department to take care of it as much as possible.
